The Festival of Steam & Transport Show - 1st & 2nd April

Some of the South East’s finest Steam Traction Engines and Road Rollers will be on display, they will move around the Dockyard streets filling the air with the distinctive smell of burning coal and steam.

There will be working exhibits all weekend, so you will see how these Monsters of Steam were used in their glory days – and still used today!

Wood Cutting ~ Saw Bench Demos ~ Crane Demos ~ Stone Crushing ~ Road Making ~ Renovation Projects

The 31st National Vintage & Tractor Road Run 2018

  Sunday 1st April - Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales, LD7 1LP

This years event will be hosted by the Teme Valley Vintage Club aided by other Radnorshire and Border tractor clubs and running from Bensons Factory Yard, Knighton by kind permission of Roy and David Edwards.

Bensons is one of the former homes of County Tractors and Commercials, converting tractors and vans to four wheel drive. Also on the site today is Clayton Engineering who build lifeboat launching vehicles and trailers for the RNLI for use at lifeboat stations around the British Isles and Ireland, some examples of which will be on display on the day.

Knighton is located on the Offas Dyke, the ancient boundary between England and Wales and sits midway between Prestatyn and Chepstow. The run will also be passing through the small town of Presteigne, the former county town of Radnorshire.

Heritage & Transport Show - Sat 7th Apr - Kent Showground, Detling, Nr Maidstone, ME14 3JF

On display will be approximately 500 vehicles including motorbikes, cars, tractors, commercials and many more. The highlights of our Show include the following: South East Bus Festival – Once again we will be working with the organizers of the four previous bus festivals.This part of the event is becoming a firm favourite, featuring a display of approximately 100 buses and bus related trade stands. Visitors and exhibitors can take advantage of as many free vintage bus rides

around the Showground as they like.  A couple of years ago we introduced an autojumble section to the Show and we hope to build on this for 2018. All autojumble stands will be outside; however we have a wide variety of trade space both inside and outside.

Riverside Country Park Festival - Sat 21st April

The English Festival is a fun-packed free day out for the whole family celebrating the most iconic and ironic of English traditions.

This year’s event will feature a new Iconic England zone, where visitors will be able to enjoy a performance by St George and the dragon, while playing a spot of bingo! There will also be an appearance by Mods on scooters.

The village square will feature a new English high street, land train and bandstand entertainment. And we will be holding a town crier competition – not to be missed!

Eastern Counties Tractor & Vintage Spectacular - 21st & 22nd April  - Norfolk ShowgroundDereham Road, Costessey,Norwich, NR5 0TT.

Now in its fourth year, the Eastern Counties Vintage Tractor Show makes a spectacular return to the Norfolk Showground. This prestigious show is recognised for its very high standard of exhibits – the quality of which is almost unsurpassed by any other UK event of its type.

Pre-1930s cars will be a big feature of the show, together with one of the country’s greatest displays of pre-1930s tractors – a unique opportunity to see veteran machinery at its very best. Among the other attractions will be tractor pulling, lawn mower racing, miniature steam engines and heavy horses.

The show is open each day from 9am to 4pm with a wide array of trade stands, onsite camping on the showground.

Every year the NVTEC-EA hosts the Stradsett Park Vintage Rally on the first May Bank Holiday. There are hundreds of exhibits including vintage motor cycles, stationary engines, horticultural implements, cars, commercials, tractors, bygones and over 45 trade stands. Everybody involved in the rally; the kind stewards and organisers, the exhibitors, trade stands and the paying public all do their bit to help raise money for the local charities. It is marvellous that after more than 40 years that the exhibitors and the public are still giving 110% to this superb rally.

People from the local area and beyond with an interest in steam and vintage vehicles, may well remember the “Crank Ups” organised by the late Paul Engelmann at Shire Hill in Saffron Walden for many years from the 1970s until the early 2000s. Building on the success of events held at Audley End over the previous few years, the East Anglian Traction Engine Society, with Paul’s permission, revived the Crank Up in 2015 to the delight of the exhibitors and visiting public alike.

Dartford Annual Steam & Classic Vehicle Fair - 12th May

The idea behind this is to show how these machines were used when they were actually working on a farm. The rally will still be having its popular working field where you will see tractors of all shapes and sizes working down the land with various types of implements.

Join us for the biggest Tractor Fest in the North. A two-day festival showcasing thousands of vintage tractors, cars, lorries, stationary engines and motorcycles, which is a great day out for all the family

This years theme celebrates two cylinder tractors including all John Deeres, ‘Oddballs & Orphans’ and Amanco Engines. The show will also showcase pioneer veteran steel wheel tractors and all other tractor marques will also be well represented.

The popular ‘March of the Tractors’ will once again start at Newby Hall, following a route into Ripon centre and ending in the market square on Saturday 9th June from 5.30 pm-7.00pm. Shops, cafes and restaurants will stay open to mark the occasion. The sounding of the Ripon Hornblower’s horn will send the tractors on their way back to Newby Hall at 7pm.

We are grateful to Duke Harry and the Duchess of Grafton for their endless support and allowing use of the grounds at Euston Hall for this superb one day charity fund raising event.  All proceeds go to the St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds and the five local churches.  The organising committee and helpers are all volunteers.  Bring your dog, on a lead.  Free car parking.

Euston Rural Pastimes is a very special Country Fair which showcases quality crafts and country skills.  With three large show rings there is something happening throughout the day, from falconry, working dogs obedience skills, ferret racing, horses and hounds.  VIntage tractors, steam engines and stationary engines, classic and veteran cars and motor bicycles. Jounry Through The Ages Vintage Rally & Country Fair - 16th & 17th June Goodrich Park, Palgrave, IP22 1BA

The event takes place in the stunning surroundings of Goodrich Park, located just on the Suffolk/Norfolk border near the town of Diss. Visitors are able to browse around the quality trade stands and Craft Marquee, be amazed by the Re-enactment displays, travel back in time as you visit the various encampments and remember the good old days whilst admiring the beautifully restored vintage vehicles and gleaming classic cars on display.

Rural Craft demonstrators will have you watching in awe as they work on their masterpieces and there will be plenty to keep children occupied with a vintage fairground, donkey rides and dog show being just some of the attractions and activities on offer.

No Agricultural Show would be complete without the ever popular Heritage Section.

The Kent County Show is particularly proud of the huge selection of vehicles that exhibit over the three days. Located near the main entrance the plumes of smoke from the steam engines can be seen as visitors enter the Showground.

Everyday the vehicles parade in the Heritage Ring and include motorcycles, commercial, buses, pre/post war cars, tractors, steam engines, models and steam. The parades start at 10.00am and continue until 4.30pm each day. A selection of vehicles travel through the Showground each day so that all our visitors have the opportunity to see these wonderful examples.

The enthusiasts who man the Heritage Section are always on hand to talk about the history and are more than happy to give advice about restoration projects.  The Kent County Show is a great opportunity for families to show their children and grandchildren the majesty of our motoring legacy.

Hadlow College Tractor Driving

Hadlow College will be in the Heritage Ring every afternoon completing a Tractor Driving Demonstration.  Hadlow College are Kent’s premier Land-Based College and are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.  Learning to drive a tractor is just of many courses they run in both Farming and Horticulture.

Hanbury Countryside Show - 7th July - Park Hall Farm, Hanbury, Redditch, B96 6RD

The is a fantastic summer's outing for the whole family. Held on the first Saturday in July since 1947, the show has been held to celebrate the very best of Midlands farming, equestrianism and rural life. The show is above all a traditional one day agricultural and horse show based upon strong charitable principles.

The Countryfile arena with presentations from the presenters, the Heavy horse section were fantastic. I know that Rodney Gibson favourite event was the Stihl Chainsaw carvings and UK Live Championships, aswell as the homemade ice-creams and local Ale tent. It is a yearly treat and well worth going to"....


Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza - 3rd - 5th August

The show is widely regarded as one of the biggest and best Steam, Vintage and Countryside events in the UK and attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors from across the county and actively raises money for both national and regional charities.

The show features: Vintage displays of nearly 700 classic cars from pre and post war, including over 70 Classic American, plus 230 Motorbikes, scooters, 70 bicycles from 1903 - 1980, 30 miniature steam engines, 91 stationary engines, 70 full size steam engines, model engineering, 200 Tractors, over 60 Buses and Coaches, 105 Military Vehicles, 240 Emergency and Commercial Vehicles, vintage Caravans and Model Aircraft flying displays. Live Arena with non-stop demonstrations from steam to dancing tractors and much much more. Plus the opportunity to drive a steam engine and see the spectacular Showman’s Engines.

Vintage Fun fair with the popular Fairground Organs, 'electric yachts', waltzers, big wheel, Punch and Judy Shows, steam-driven 'gallopers' and traditional penny arcade games, plus a ride on a model stream train.

Weald of Kent Steam Rally - 4th - 5th August 

Largest line up of Steam in Kent - Weald of Kent Steam Rally, Little Engeham Farm, Woodchurch, Kent. TN26 3QY With over 40 full size steam engines taking part in arena events, steam ‘working area’ with threshing machines and saw benches, a Victorian Fair complete with Carousel and traditional side shows, Scale steam engines and ride on railways, classic cars, stationary engines, commercial, farming, military vehicles and stalls, there really is something for everyone.

Throughout the weekend there will be steam games to watch and participate in, a restoration marquee giving you access to what goes into bringing these beautiful machines back to life with live demonstrations and why not take a helicopter flight which will allow you to get a bird’s eye view of the beautiful Kent countryside. Relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings with something from food stalls and the fully licenced bar which will be offering locally brewed beers, ciders and more.

The Weald of Kent Steam Rally is the largest event of its kind in Kent and is a great educational day out for all the family.

Biddenden Tractorfest & Country Fair - 18th & 19th August

A survey of visitors showed that the main reason for attending was to have

“a good family day out” and appreciated were not only the large number

of tractors shown and paraded but also the country fair atmosphere which allowed visitors to feel they were stepping into a bygone age.

Popular over the two days were tractors from many decades, rows of classic cars, commercial vehicles and motorcyles;  miniature steam engines, stationary engines, horticultural machines, a wide choice of food and drink outlets, and a large number of craft and other stalls.

Westmorland County Show  - Thursday 13th Sept - Westmorland County Agricultural Society, Lane Farm, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria. LA7 7NH

The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day Shows in the UK and also one of the

oldest with the Westmorland Society being founded in 1799. Held on the second Thursday in

September each year, the Show attracts over 30,000 people and features a major Livestock Show

including cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry. There are also marquees for The Women's Institute, Learning or Life, Crafts from Cumbria, local produce Food Hall,

Rural Crafts and over 350 trade stands.

Bedfordshire Steam & Country Fair - 14th - 16th September - Old Warden Park, nr Biggleswade SG18 9DX

The Bedfordshire Steam & Country Fayre is held in the picturesque setting of Old Warden Park. The much photographed Victorian Country House, built by the Shuttleworth family in the late 1870’s, provides a magnificent backdrop for the event.

Attracting over 20,000 visitors each year, the Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society aims to give an insight into the country life at the turn of the 20th Century when steam was in its hey day. Many working demonstrations are taking place wherever you may care to roam on the 400 acre site. For the complete day out visit the beer garden, listen to the band and watch the Stage Show.Stay into Saturday evening and end your day marvelling at the magnificent line-up of showman’s engines generating the fairground rides and attractions.
