The Kent County & Heritage Show on the 10th - 12th July 2015
As I Say each year this County Show is growing more and more towards the Working and the Who's working in the Kent county area. There was a mark improvement of "Market" stalls that seem to swamp most of the Shows now days. The stalls that were here were more hand made and crafty ideas and based in Kent which is superb and what a County show is all about....Well Done Kent Show Ground Organisors your listening to us...Fantastic.
This years "Heritage" Section was also very good with a great variety of Vehicles, Tractors and Equipment that we have come to expect from this Superb Hertiage section.
This Saurer Diesel Flat back that has been converted with accomadation that looks like the load is a regular visitor here, the vehicle tours a few shows aroung Germany & UK through out the yearly season.
1947 Showman's Living Wagon
This wagon was built by Abbey Coachworks of Dagenham and has been fully restored to its original former glory by it's present owners
The Power unit in the back of the lorry is a 1942 JP4 Lister, 9 1/2 HP per cylinder, 230 volts at 1,000 revs. Its first job was to power the landing lights at Heathrow Airport untill 1947 and then Fair Ground work.
I know it is not right, but this lovely restored Morris Minor with modern colour and upto date accessories
looked absaloutly great, especially the neat looking led headlights.
A very original Austin 18HP York 7 seater Saloon.
Ordered by Herbert Price at the Chineese (Park Langley) Garage at Beckenham on 17th November 1936.
It was shipped direct from the Austin factory in Longbridge, Birmingham to New Zealand
(Dunedin, South Island). This Austin stayed in the Price family from Herbert to his Daughter then to his Grandson.
Brought back to Bromley in May 2008, Just 2 miles from the Chineese Garage where it's journey began back in 1936. Owned now by: Keith & Adrianne Laidlow.
